Patricia Ann (Brunsman) Gillis, 84, of Defiance, died Saturday morning, July 4, 2015 in her home.
She was born in Cincinnati, OH on October 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Julian and Marguerite (Poole) Brunsman.
She moved to Detroit, MI in 1933. Graduated from St. Charles Borromeo High School in 1948. worked as a supervisor for the Detroit Metro AAA office until 1955. She married James Gillis on January 8, 1955, who survives.
Pat was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, where she was a Eucharistic minister and started the cross ministry for the families of deceased members. A hospice volunteer,
R & R volunteer for Alzheimer's patients, NW Ohio Jail Ministry volunteer, Medical Reserve Corps volunteer. Member of the ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital auxiliary for over 30 years, serving as president, vice president and corresponding secretary. A former girl scout troop leader and preschool religious education teacher. A former member of the Legatus Society. Pat enjoyed golf, bowling, bridge, traveling and serving others through her extensive volunteer activities. She was devoted to her husband, family and faith.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Jim.

She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and their 4 spouses, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Oh. at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015
Friends are invited to call 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday with an informal service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Lawson-Roessner.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers suggested memorials are to Holy Cross Catholic School. Condolences and memories to the family can be shared at www.lawsonroessner.com.
