Patricia Gearing Patricia Gearing, 82, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, She was born in Indiana on October 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Caroline (Ryberg) Dierkes. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and a 1947 graduate of Defiance High School. Patricia married Donald Gearing June 11, 1949 and he died Oct. 15, 2008. She worked as a St. John School volunteer. G.M. office worker. She will be sadly missed by her daughter: Debra (Alan) Fick of Defiance, two grandchildren: Eric and Eryn Fick, three sister in laws and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a brother Richard Dierkes, her husband and parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Oh. at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 26th, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Visitation is Friday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
