Patricia J. Metz, 73, of Defiance, passed away on  Monday, December 12, 2016 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance.

She was born on February 8, 1943 to Marion and Margaret (McKellipes) Barton in Defiance. On March 8, 1975 she married Russell Metz, who preceded her in death in 2006.

Patricia was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Defiance, was a former United Methodist Women President and Treasurer, and she volunteered at CHP Hospice Center.

Patricia will be sadly missed by her daughters, Stacey Rioux of Defiance, and Michelle (Robert Shane) Preston of Fremont, stepchildren, Marsha Sherick of Palmera, Michigan, George (Sandi) Metz of Defiance, and Tim (Barb) Metz of Hicksville, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers, Gregory (Sally) Barton of Napoleon, Robert (Roberta) Barton of Defiance, and sister, Margaret Wobler of Defiance.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Metz, two grandchildren, brothers, Everard Barton, Michael Barton, Gary Barton, Keith Barton, and sister, Tonette Froelich

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Defiance, with Pastor Judy Williams officiating.
