Pamela Lively, 77, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was born on December 7, 1945 to Don Burroughs Jr. and Viola (Krause) Burroughs. She graduated from Jewell High School as Valedictorian of her class. She married Richard Michael on August 29, 1964 and they were together until his untimely death in 1966.
Pamela was a homemaker until 1978 when she started her career at General Motors and became the first female pattern maker of UAW in 1987. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, UAW Local #211, and a life member of NAACP. She retired in 1996 after almost 19 years of service. She raised six children and became involved in many activities such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and 4-H, and she helped form the local Defiance branch of the NAACP. Her children are very proud of all the lives she impacted during her involvement with these services. Pamela enjoyed crafts, gardening, ceramics, and helping others. She would do anything for anyone.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Larry Burroughs, her children; Todd Michael, Richelle "Shellie" (Erin Kander) Michael, Charles (Amanda) Fockler, Jason Fockler and Alicia (Chris Schrock) Upshaw, and her grandchildren; Carlton Fockler, Darian Fockler, Kellan (Kinsey Stevens) Drain, and Justice Fockler, and many nieces and nephews, adopted grandchildren, and her adopted family of Bowling Green Manor staff members.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Michael, and her son Keith E. Fockler. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Kurt Mews officiating. Burial will take place at Sherwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations directed to Bowling Green Manor Activity Center, or Lucas County Canine Care & Control.
