Pamela Susan Helf, 64, of Defiance, passed away on July 11th, 2014 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

She was born on January 11, 1950 to Richard and Ruth (McDonald) Byers in Adrian, MI. On October 1, 1965 she married Arthur Helf in Adrian, MI. Pamela and Arthur lived in Defiance, Ohio.

She was a former member of Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren.

Pamela is survived by her loving spouse of 49 years, Arthur, daughter, Lisa Helf of Adrian, MI, son, Scot Helf of Defiance, OH, daughter, Stacy (Jay) Hughes of Defiance, OH, Grandchildren; Justin Hughes, Kavon Johnson, Jeremy Hughes, Breanna Hughes, Shayleen Helf, sisters; Patricia Sanderson of Bradenton, FL, Sally Byers of St. Petersburg, FL, Christine Byers of Brandon, FL, Kathy Byers of Bradenton, FL, and a brother, Danny Byers of Bradenton, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jason Helf in childhood, and a sister, Debra Lee Youngblood.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, 1:00 pm at the Schaffer Funeral  Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Benjamin  Polzin, officiating.

Cremation will take place in the Tribute Cremation.
