Nelly Marie Seitz (Donoso)

Nelly Maria Donoso was born in Santiago de Veraguas, Panama in 1928 and died peacefully in her home on January 22, 2013. Nelly graduated with a B.A. from the University of Panama in Biology and Chemistry. Additionally, she received a Professor of Secondary Education Diploma with a specialty in Biology and Chemistry. She enjoyed teaching in Panama for nearly 10 years. However, her love of teaching was put aside to raise her children. She is survived by SIBLINGS: Max Donoso (Panama), Mita Tristan (Panama), Raul Donoso (Panama), Jilma DeLosSantos (Panama), Casimiro Donoso (Nashville, TN), Dimia Clark (Houston, TX), Fimia Morales (Los Angeles, CA), Otilia Tapia (Panama). DAUGHTERS AND SON-IN-LAWS: Marie & David Jaqua (Napoleon, OH), Darline & Charles Clemens (Defiance, OH), and Mary & Merrill Oakes (Alpharetta, GA). She always referred to her son-in-laws as her three sons. GRANDCHILDREN: Nicole Clemens-Rohlf, Jeremy Clemens, David Clemens, Kelsey Oakes, Nathan Jaqua, and Preston Oakes. GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Robert Long, Danielle Clemens-Rohlf and Oktavia Rohlf. She was preceded in death by her son, Darrell Seitz and grand-daughter, Deanna Darline Clemens.

To know Nelly was to love her! No one was a stranger to Nelly and she always put family first. She made it clear that when she died, she wanted her funeral to be a celebration. Therefore, we will honor her wishes as we celebrate her life of caring, devotion to family and her spirited personality.

Visitation will occur at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home at 529 Jefferson Street in Defiance, OH on Friday, January 25 from 4:00PM – 8:00PM. The viewing will be begin at 10:00AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00AM. They will both be held at Defiance Christian Church located at 955 Stanley Road in Defiance, OH. The interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. A luncheon will be held afterwards at Defiance Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memoriam of Nelly to a children's home that she supported for many years: Hogar Santa Isabel at Apartado 0923-00012, Santiago do Veraguas, República de Panamá. Nelly will be missed by all who knew her.
