Obituary

In Loving Memory of Natarra Rae Grimes, 33, of Defiance, Ohio. She was born on June 28, 1993, in Lima, Ohio. She passed away on November 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, following her battle with cancer.

Natarra was born to Daniel and Gail Grimes and was the youngest of three children. She is survived by her older brother, Joshua Grimes (Trace Weirauch) and her older sister, Natasha Claud (Zac Claud).

Above all else, Natarra was a devoted and loving mother to her four amazing children: Pryiim Grimes, 10; Oryn Hageman, 8; Arloh, 4; and her youngest daughter, Pryia, 2. Her children were the center of her world, and she treasured the time spent with each of them. She especially enjoyed watching Pryiim participate in gymnastics and cheering Oryn on at his baseball games. Her love for her children was endless and the memories they created together will forever be cherished.

Natarra is also survived by her parents, Daniel and Gail Grimes, her brother Joshua Grimes, sister Natasha Claud, sister-in-law Trace Weirauch, brother-in-law Zac Claud, and her nieces and nephews, Ella, Zyana, Jaxon and Ronan, Everson, LJ and Kyra. She also leaves behind extended family members and many loved ones who will miss her dearly, including her lifelong childhood friend Benito Santos.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Shirley Ullinskey and Robert and Iola "Mae" Grimes, her cousin Jeremy Sharman (Carla Sharman), and uncles Lewis Ullinskey, James Ullinskey and Dennis Ullinskey.

Natarra was strong-willed, determined, and ornery in the very best way. She had a spirit that could not easily be broken, and a personality that made her uniquely herself. She was an amazing daughter, sister, mother, friend and cousin who left a lasting impression on the people fortunate enough to know her. Natarra was also a creative and independent woman who took pride in her small business "Signshop Girl". Through her business, she created custom T-shirts, hats, signs, and business cards, sharing her creativity and talents with others. Though her life was far too short, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the mark she left on her family will never be forgotten. Her children will forever carry her love with them, and her family will hold close the moments, stories, and memories that made Natarra so special. Natarra's life will be remembered for her fierce spirit, her devotion to her children, and the love she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026 from 2:30 pm-8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 10th at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Kennedy officiating. Upon her request, the family asks that those attending the viewing or services not wear black, but instead wear colorful colors, including her favorite color Pink.

Memorials are suggested to the family for her children, c/o Daniel Grimes.
