Nancy Jean DeTray passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on July 26,
2014, with her family at her side.

She was born on June 2, 1940 to Kenneth and Esther (Schmunk) Parker in
Defiance, Ohio. She attended Defiance High School and on June 12th, 1976 she
married Tim DeTray.

Nancy was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Nancy was an avid gardener and was a member of Defiance County Master
Gardeners.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Tim DeTray, her children Rob (Trice)
Copeland of Redmond, WA; Rick (Debbie) Copeland of Jensen Beach, FL; Randy
(Sheri) Copeland of Oakwood, OH; Angela (Kevin) Kane of Angola, IN, and six
grandchildren: Alex, Andy, Brooke, Rene, Spencer, and Cara, as well as one
great grandchild, Willow. She is also survived by her sisters Janet Heller
and Dawn Suffaro, and her brothers Chuck Parker, Bernie Parker, and Danny
Parker.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joyce Jackman, and
her brother Ned Parker.

Nancy touched us all with her kindness, her humor, her determination, and most of all, her ability to see the beauty in everyday life. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Jeff Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance. Memorials may be made to CHP Defiance Area Hospice Inpatient Center or Harvest Field Pentecostal Church, Scott OH.
