Nancy Jane Mock, age 79 of Defiance, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Monday evening, March 13, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Center. She was born on April 3, 1943 to the late Carl and Evelyn (Blosser) Fockler. On December 23, 1961she married James "Bud" Mock, who preceded her in death on December 17, 2013. Nancy enjoyed camping and fishing for blue gill, and she loved going to craft shows, the holidays, and spending time with her family. Nancy is survived by her sons, Steve (Tina) Mock and Jeff (Deb) Mock, all of Defiance, 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Sharon Bidlack of Cecil, OH, Ron Fockler of Bryan, OH, Beth (Steve) Long, Lynn (Ann) Fockler, and Marvin (Angie) Fockler, all of Defiance. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Mark Mock and Theresa Thiel, and three brothers, Richard Fockler, Robert Fockler and David Fockler. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Sam Mock officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
