Nancy A. Grant, age 77, of Hicksville, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on March 19, 1941 to Archie and Mary (Partee) Hostettler in Defiance. On September 10, 1960 she married Thomas Grant, who preceded her in death on January 31, 1994.

Nancy worked as a supervisor at Hillside Nursing Home in Bryan for several years until her retirement in 2004. In her leisure time she enjoyed crafting, scrapbooking, and most of all spending time with her family. Nancy will be sadly missed by her sons, Thomas (LeAnn) Grant of Mark Center, OH, Russell (Michelle) Grant of Hicksville, and Richard (Laura) Grant of Hicksville. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren; Amanda, Kody, Kayla, Taylor, Kaycee, Karlee, Katrina, and Garret, and five great-grandchildren; Trayton, Xander, Amiya, Deaglan, and Kalliope. In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Grant, sons, Randy, Todd, and Rodney Grant, brothers, Larry, Charles, and Ronnie Hostettler, and sister, Linda Grubb. Visitation will be held from 2-7 pm on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service  to celebrate Nancy's life will follow at 7:00 pm at the funeral home, with celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Memorials are suggested to The American Heart Association, The American Lung Association, or CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
