Murel  Lee Lloyd, age 81 of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his home in Defiance, Ohio. He was born on September 21, 1940 to the late Charles and Emma (Wagner) Lloyd in Stryker, Ohio. On September 20, 1958 he married Shirley (Boyd) Lloyd, who survives. Murel was a faithful member of Defiance Church of the Nazarene. He was a life-long farmer and took great pride in his work. Murel was the past owner and operator of Lloyd's Appliance Service in Stryker. He enjoyed bowling, traveling, flying, sailing, the ocean, and talking to others. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by his family and many good friends. Murel is survived by his loving wife Shirley, his sons, Rick (Susan) Lloyd of Stryker, OH, and Murel Leon (Melissa) Lloyd of Defiance, and his daughters, Sheree (Marty) Potts of Bryan, OH, Julie (Paul) Fuhrmann of Defiance, and Shelly (Kurt) Herman of Auburn, IN. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his brother, Elden Lloyd of Kentucky, and his sister, Darlene Thomas of Arizona. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Virgil, Paul, and Charles Lloyd, and sisters, Ruth Armstrong and Sylvia Thorp. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Defiance Church of the Nazarene. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church, with Rev. Donald Leonard officiating. Burial will  follow the service at Riverside Cemetery. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
