Obituary

Moises F. Andonegui Moises F. Andonegui, age 73, of Defiance, Oh , passed away at 6:26 A:M , Sunday, October 26th, 2008 at Defiance Area Hospice In-Patient Center. Born in Taft , Texas on September 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Luis and P. Alicia (Flores) Andonegui Happily married on Nov. 24, 1956 to Guadalupe (Laguna) Andonegui, who survives. He lived in Defiance since 1964. He was employed at GM Powertrain for over 43 years retiring in 1998 as a painter. While there, he worked at the highest and lowest places, both inside and outside the plant. He was credited by G.M. for 49.8 years of service. He was a proud member of the UAW Local # 211. He was involved with the Sons of the Amvets and also the Dads Club of the VFW where he was a past Second Commander. A member of the Guadalupe Society and helped to bring the Toledo Diocese' annual Lady of Guadalupe Day celebration here. He served on the Pastoral Advisory Council for the Spanish Speaking Apostolate. Moises helped organize the Good Friday walk from St. Mary's to St. John's. Involved with the Cursillo Movement since 1969. A member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1039, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and served as Deputy Grand Knight. He was a member of St. John Catholic church, the Defiance Fish and Game club, and the Defiance Eagles. He was the proud father of 2 daughters and 3 sons. Daughter(s): Alicia (Ruben) Gomez of Smyrna, Tenn., Sandra (Christopher) Stanfield of Defiance Son(s): Moses Andonegui of Naples, Florida, Manuel (Carla) Andonegui of Columbia, Tenn., Mark (Jacqueline) Andonegui of Defiance Sister: Maria Ramirez of Mexico City, Mexico Brother: Luis (Ofelia) Andonegui of Mexico City, Mexico He s also survived by 9 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, Oh. at 10:00 A on Wednesday, October 29th, with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Friends are invited to call Tuesday 3-9 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. where there will be a 6:30 P:M Rosary Service. Interment at St. Michael's Church Cemetery Suggested memorials are to St. John Catholic church 510 Jackson Ave. Defiance, Oh 43512.
