Mildred "Tood" E. Lalonde, 89, of Defiance, passed away on  March 13,
2013 at Glenn Park in Defiance, OH.

She was born on February 27, 1924 to Charles and Leona (Weisz) Baum in
Defiance, OH. She attended Ayersville High School and graduated as
Valedictorian of the class of 1942. On October 9, 1943 she married
Joseph Charles Lalonde. Tood and Joe lived and raised their five
children in Defiance, Ohio.

Tood was a member of  the VFW Auxiliary, St. John's Catholic Church,
she enjoyed polka dancing, golf, knitting, playing cards, and excelled
at telling jokes & entertaining her friends all over northwest Ohio.
She really missed polka-ing, with her friends. Tood was very proud of
being 6 time Club Champion at the Auglaize Country Club. She was
extremely competitive in all of her endeavors, ( and claimed to have
never missed a foul shot in basketball). Tood adored her kids,
grandkids, and great grandkids and was very proud of her children's
many accomplishments.

Tood is survived by her loving children, Dr. Joe (Jan) G. Lalonde of
Lewis Center, OH, Jackie Gerker of Worthington, OH, Dr. John Lalonde
of Greensboro, NC, Dr. Jim Lalonde of Defiance, OH, Tom (Denise)
Lalonde Napoleon, OH, Sister, Vivian Ryan of Defiance, OH, 9 grandchildren,and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Charles & Leona Baum, husband, Joseph Charles Lalonde, Siblings, Edie Denton, John Baum, Marge Feeney, Sadie Ehrat, grandson, Steven Gerker, & special friend, Elmer Sprow. Visitation will be held on Friday March 15, 2013 from 2-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc. with Deacon Jeff Mayer officiating.
