Michelle Ann Whitney, 25, of Defiance, passed away on  Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at her residence.

She was born on June 16, 1988 to John and Linda (Relue) Whitney in Defiance.

She was working on her BA in Sociology.  Michelle loved to read horror stories and watch horror movies, write short stories, and enjoyed gardening.  She laughed a lot and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews who lovingly called her called "Mickey Monkey".

Michelle is survived by her  parents, John and Linda Whitney of Defiance, brothers, Tom (Angie) Whitney of Defiance, Michael Whitney of Defiance, sisters, Mollie Krontz of Edon,  Mary (Matthew) Wirth of Rio Rancho, NM, and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an aunt, Pat Layton, grandparents, William F Whitney, Mary A Kelly, Donald James Relue and Betty Jean Marshall.

Visitation will be held from 10-1 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a memorial service being held  at 1 p.m.  A potluck will be held at UAW Park, Defiance following the services in her memory.  The family would like everyone to bring a memory and a dish to share.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart or to the Lung Association.
