Michael A. Schalk Michael Allen. Schalk, 62, of Defiance, Oh , passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 27th, 2016 at Van Wert County Hospital E/R, in Van Wert, OH. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on January 2, 1954, he was the son of the late Edwin and Evelyn (Yelle) Schalk. Mike married Waneta R. (Aston) Schalk who died Nov. 2, 2013. Mike retired from General Motors Central Foundry in Defiance. OH. He enjoyed his dogs, racing pigeons and was a member of the Defiance Pigeon Club. Surviving are sisters: Barbara Harker of Bay City, Michigan, Kathleen Beech of Michigan, brother: Thomas (Sherry) Schalk of Bay City, MI. a very special friend Kelly, several nieces and and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 5 brothers and sisters. There will be private services for the family. The Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home was entrusted with Mike's arrangements.
