Michael Leon Sanders, 61, of Defiance, passed away on  Sunday, July 27, 2014 at his residence.

He was born on January 26, 1953 to Charles and Violet (Rollins) Sanders in Defiance.

Michael worked for the Campbell Soup Company for 23 years.  He loved fishing, boating, hiking, camping and traveling. Michael enjoyed meeting & talking with people & especially helping them.  He loved reading, especially about history.  Michael was a happy, caring, understanding man and enjoyed discussing political issues. He was also an animal lover and will be sadly missed by his dog "Rocky".

Michael is survived by his fiancée', Sheree L. Sanders of Defiance, step-son, Gabriel (Sarah Babb) Cline of Defiance, and  his best friend Scottie Parent of Oscoda, MI and friend "The Professor".

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held on Friday August 1, 2014 from 11 a.m. until the funeral services begin at 1 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance with Apostle O'Michael Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
