Obituary

Maxine A. Hechler Maxine A. Hechler, 85, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on September 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Vernice (Ryan) Marckel. She married Eugene Hechler on Oct. 17, 1973 and he survives. Maxine had worked at at the Dew Drop Inn in Defiance and Woolworths in Toledo. Surviving are her husband Eugene, daughter: Vivian (William) Segur of Paulding and son: Alan (Eva) Bird of Defiance. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Clyde Bird. Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance, at 11:00 A:M on Friday, November 19th, with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Visitation is Friday morning from 9-11 before services. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont. In lieu of flowers suggested memorials are to the Defiance Senior Center or the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
