Mary J. Winkler Mary J. Winkler, 87, of Defiance, passed away 1:00 P:M Friday, May 7th, 2010 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Casstown, Oh. on July 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ross and Blanche Dennison. In 1941,Mary married Phillip Winkler , who died Jan. 26, 1992. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church where she had worked as a cook at St. John Catholic School. Mary was also a life member of the Defiance VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are Daughter: Belinda Winkler of Defiance Sons: David (Judith) Winkler of Springfield, Oh., Phillip (Brenda) K. Winkler of Cecil, Steven (Marcia) Winkler of Bryan, Mark (Noy) Winkler of Las Vegas, Jerry (Mary) Winkler of Bryan. Daughter in laws: Pat Winkler of Defiance and Joanna Winkler of Springfield. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 2 sons: Thomas and Roger Winkler, a brother: William Dennison, a sister: Thelma Reed and her husband Phillip. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. John Catholic Church at 11:00 A:M on Tuesday, May 11th. Visitation will be Monday from 2-9 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home with a 8:00 P:M Vigil Service Monday. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
