Mary E. Southworth, 51, of Defiance, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born on April 1, 1964 to Dr. Robert and Alice (Adams) Southworth in Defiance, Ohio. Mary was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Defiance. Mary attended Good Samaritan School in Defiance for 9 years, where she scored over 1,000 points for the basketball team, and graduated in 1985. She loved her family and friends. She also loved bowling, music, and dancing, and she adored her cat Suzy. Mary is survived by her brothers, Stephen (Dawn) Southworth of Tupelo, Mississippi, Christopher (Lori) Southworth of Riviera Beach, Florida, Michael (Martha) Southworth of Twinsburg, Ohio, sister, Dawn Southworth of Glouester, Massachusetts, Nieces, Rachel, Hillary, and Morgan, Nephews, Nicholas and Maxwell, Aunt Jane (Hank Johnson) Southworth of Southport Island, Maine, and special friend Fred Potts. Mary was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2015, at First Presbyterian Church in Defiance, with Rev. Eric Peltz officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
