Mary Gazelle LaFontaine, 85, formally of Defiance, Ohio, passed away on  December 19, 2012 at the  Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL.

She was born on April 22, 1927 to Alva and Zena (Shreve) Snodgrass in Paulding, OH. She graduated from Paulding High School. On November 9, 1946 she married Douglas J. LaFountiane in Kentucky. Douglas and Mary raised their family in Hamilton, Indiana and Edgerton, Ohio where they were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. They travel and camped with several friends for many years.
Douglas passed away on May 27th, 1992.
In 1995, Mary relocated to Florida where she and a long-time friend of the family, Floyd R. Bell, spent 11 years together, until Floyd's death on July 19th, 2006.

Mary is survived by her daughters; Linda (Robert) Albright of Defiance, OH, & Jeanne (John Streff) Royal of Bradenton, FL, brother; William Snodgrass of Paulding, OH, Grandchildren; Julee (Rudy) Morris of Defiance, OH, Kim Albright-Good of Defiance, OH, Douglas (Tracy) Williamson of Montpelier, OH, John (Heather) Adams of Mark Center, OH, Justin (Leisa) Adams of Bryan, OH, Jessica (Mark Johnson) Adams of Defiance, OH, Great-Grandchildren; Jose R (Jessica Bright) Hernandez IV of Osprey, FL, Alex Hernandez of Osprey, FL, Zachary Morris, Tyson & Brady Williamson, Kennedy, Braelyn, McKenzie, & Jacob Adams, Hailey, Ryan, & Bryar Johnson, Great-Great Grandchild; Aliana Hernandez, Step-Grandchild, Brian (Albright) Stamper, Step-Great-Grandchildren; Holly Grieser, Mindy (Fredy) Argueta, Rick (Amy) Good, Scott (Leslie) Good, Kesia Keesbury, Step-Great-Great Grandchildren; Brendan & Courtney Good, Sydney & Jared Grieser.

She was preceded in death by husband, Douglas J. LaFontaine, father, Alva Dean Snodgrass, mother, Zena Snodgrass, Brother; Robert Snodgrass, Sisters; Kathleen Hart, Colleen Culp and Lynda Lee and long time family friend Floyd R. Bell.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2012, 11:00 am at the St Mary Catholic Church, in Defiance, Ohio, with Father Randy Giesige, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
