Mary M. (Smith) Patten's Obituary
Mary M. Patten, 91, of Westerville, OH, formerly of Defiance, passed away on March 11, 2014, at St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville, OH.
She was born on July 21, 1922 to Arthur and Myrtle (Buckalman) Smith in Defiance, OH. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1940. In 1947 she married Robert W. Patten. Mary and Robert lived in Defiance, OH and ran Mary & Bob's Grocery from 1954-1965 and Mary & Bob's Inn from 1965-1998.
Mary was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Penny Patten of Westerville, OH and Diane McCumber of Indiana, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father, Arthur Smith, and mother, Myrtle Seither, husband, Robert Patten, and sisters, Norma Jean Ordway and Margaret Corso.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, OH.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, with Father Todd Dominique officiating.
Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
