Mary Ellen Seibert, 87, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Glenn Park of Defiance.

She was born on May 29, 1929 to Ambrose and Hazel (Thiel) Krutsch in Defiance, Ohio. On May 26, 1956 she married  James Hopper, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1969.  On June 19, 1971 she married Francis Seibert, who passed away on June 7, 2010.

Mary Ellen was a legal secretary for the City of Defiance, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mary Ellen will be sadly missed by her daughters, Leslie Ellen (James) Frey, and Holly (David) Schultz, all of Defiance, grandchildren; Brittany (David) Mick of Defiance, Nick (Laina) Schultz of Dayton, Ohio, James Frey of Lincoln, Nebraska, Austin Schultz of Toledo, and Meryn Frey of Toledo, and sister, Lois Wahl of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Ambrose Krutsch, both of her loving husbands, and brothers, James and John "Jack" Krutsch.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Schaffer Funeral Home, in Defiance. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
