Mary L. Parker Mary L. Parker, 87, Defiance, died at 4:18 a:m. Thursday, July 17, 2008, in the Laurels of Defiance. She was born April 24, 1921 in Defiance, the daughter of the late Eras and Deette (Goddard) Snodgrass. In 1941 she married James Parker who died in 2006. Shw was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church and graduated from Defiance High School and a beauty school in Cleveland. She worked at the former Clip 'N curl in Defiance before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. She worked also as a seamstress. She later worked for Dr. Robert Burk Sr.'s DDS office before retiring in 1984 and moving to Melbourne, Fla. She returned to Defiance in 2004. Surviving are a son Bill (Jane) Parker of Defiance: a brother Clyde, Toledo: 2 grandaughters and 3 great granddaughters. Preceded in death by a sister Rowena Hill. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a;m thursday, July 31, in St. Paul Lutheran church. Visitation is 10-11 Thursday at the church. Suggested memorials are to the church or the donor's choice.
