Mary Lou McKenney, 81, of Defiance, passed away on December 23, 2012 at the Parkview Heart Institute in Fort Wayne, IN.

She was born on September 15, 1931 to Theodore and Ethel (Musselman) Miller in Sherwood, OH. She attended school at Defiance High School. On October 10th, 1948 she married Richard N. McKenney at the St. John Lutheran Church Defiance, Ohio. Mary and Richard lived in Defiance, Ohio where they raised their 5 children.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Ladies Quilting Club. Mary served as a member and pollster for the Board of Registered Voters for several years. Mary stayed connected to her family and community through supporting her many grandchildren at their sporting events. She was also a devoted Tinora Rams Fan, loved flower gardening and was known to enjoy red roses, and many varieties of lilies. She will be missed by many.

Mary is survived by her loving children; Gloria Jean (Virgil) Cameron of Naples, FL, Jeffery (Cynthia) McKenney of Granville, OH, Diane (Joseph) Hohenberger of Big Rapids, MI, Terry (Kelly) McKenney of Defiance, OH, Lisa (Kenneth) Marihugh of Defiance, OH, GrandChildren:, Stephen (Janell) Cameron of Marysville, OH, Clayton (Heather Merillat) Cameron of Wauseon, OH, Michael (Kathryn) McKenney of Granville, OH, Jessica (Brian Guagenti) McKenney of Granville, OH, Melissa Hohenberger of Columbus, OH, Brent (Bethany) Hohenberger of New Albany, OH, Kirk (Lauren Berry) Hohenberger of Westerville, OH, Ethan & Tyler McKenney of Defiance, OH, Kaylee & Megan Marihugh of Defiance, OH, 4 Great-Grand Children.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard N. McKenney, mother, Ethel A. (Musselman) Miller, father, Theodore C. Miller, and a daughter, Jennifer Sue, in infancy.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 27th 2012 from 3-8 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday December 28th at St. John Lutheran Church, in Defiance, Ohio with Rev. Donald L. Luhuring, officiating. There will be an hour of calling starting at 10:00 am, at the church, prior to the services.

Burial will take place in Riverview Memory Gardens.
