Mary V. Bennett, 85, of Defiance, passed away on  Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born on November 12, 1931 to Henry and Caroline (Lindeman) McClure in Defiance, Ohio.  On  September 15, 1951, she married Oliver "Mike" Bennett who preceded her death in 2009.

She was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church, National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, First Families of Allen and Paulding Counties, and Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed genealogy, crocheting and volunteering at the Defiance Library.

Mary is survived by her sons; George "Mike" (Sarah) Bennett; James (Carole) Bennett; Steve Bennett; daughters, Terry Ann (Paul) Seimet; Pamela (Terry Green) Laker; Patty Bennett; and 8 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver "Mike" Bennett; and three brothers, Richard "Dick" McClure, George Fremont McClure and Alton "Red" McElwain.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 13, 2017 from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:30 pm officiated by Rev. David Brobston at the Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio.

Interment will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
