Mary Louise Flory, age 82 of Defiance, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 16, 2019 at The Laurels of Defiance, surrounded by her family and pastor. She was born on January 12, 1937 to Robert and Leone (Rogers) Lourash in Defiance County, Ohio. Louise was a 1955 graduate of Sherwood High School. On January 18, 1959 she married Elmer Flory, who preceded her in death on February 27, 1994. Louise was a faithful, lifelong member of  Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren. She was a Deacon and also taught Sunday School.  Louise worked for over twenty years for the Post Office in Jewell and Defiance, until her retirement in 1997. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau of Defiance County. In her leisure time she loved to read, collect antiques, and she enjoyed the Toledo Symphony. Louise will be sadly missed by her children; Verna (Mark) Harrington of Stryker, Cathy (Larry) King of Pettisville, and Ted Flory of Defiance, four grandchildren; Matt (Stephanie) Harrington, Michelle Harrington, Erica King and Aaron King, two great-grandchildren; Zachary Harrington and Emily Harrington, and her sister, Meda (Bill) Deepe of Defiance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Flory, and a granddaughter, Lori Harrington. Visitation will be held from 2-8 pm on Friday, April 19, 2019 at Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren, 6970 Domersville Road, Defiance. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the church, with Rev. Ben Polzin officiating. Burial will be private.
