Mary Lou Demland, age 86 of Defiance, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Ney, Ohio on December 25, 1939 to the late Albert and Dorothy (Welsh) Lambert. On June 22, 1963 she married Roger "R.D." Demland who preceded her in death on December 20, 2019. Mary Lou was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, and Defiance Elks Lodge #147. She worked at Campbell's Soup Company in Napoleon, Ohio for 28 years until her retirement in 1998. Mary Lou was an avid reader and also enjoyed painting, traveling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a "snow bird" and loved spending the winter months in Florida. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mary Lou is survived by her daughter Amy (David Sr.) Mann of Delta, OH, four grandchildren; Paul, Chad, and David Mann, and Alexa Demland, and her sister Bonnie Murphy of Defiance. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Lance Demland, and brother Robert Lambert. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
