Mary Elizabeth Flory Scofield, 82, of Dalton KY, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at her home. She was a member of Ledbetter Methodist Church and Christ Temple in Providence KY, and a member of Ladies Auxiliary in Burna, KY.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Scofield; parents Ben and Nellie Flory; and sisters Nancy Peffley and Sarah Karnes.

She is survived by sons Joe Scofield of Palm Bay, Florida, Charlie Scofield (Kim) of Muncie, Indiana, and Tom Scofield (Tina) of Clay; daughters Karen Melton (Rickie) of Symsonia and Shelly Green (Ronnie) of Dalton; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 10 am to 12 noon at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with funeral services immediately following at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
