Marty J Kennedy (August 4, 1950-December 7, 2024) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Preceding him in death were his parents, Mike & Betty Kennedy, and brother, Pat Kennedy.

Marty attended Defiance High School until joining the United States Army in 1967, where he served as a Sergeant in the 583rd ordinance company in West Germany. For over 20 years, Marty worked at the Phillips picture tube manufacturing plant in Ottawa, OH, where he was an active member and leader of the IBEW union. Marty also served as a member of the Monroe Township Zoning board and was a member of the American Legion in Continental.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Debbie Kennedy; his loving son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Melinda Kennedy; and sisters, Karollen Engle, Sherre Mast, and Tina Barker.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, 12:00-4:00pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, 529 Jefferson Avenue, Defiance. The funeral service will follow at 4:00pm.

Memorial donations may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or the Boys Town home for wayward children in Nebraska.
