Martha M. Worthington, 86, of Sherwood, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Hillside Country Living in Bryan, Ohio. She was born on December 6, 1936 to the late Marjorie Gearing in Defiance, Ohio. On October 5, 1964 she married Roger Worthington, who preceded her in death in 1984. Martha worked for several restaurants and nursing homes in the area, but above all she treasured her time spent at home with her children. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, gardening, and she loved watching old movies. Martha was a very loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Martha is survived by her children, Roger (Sheila) Worthington of Ney, OH, and Patricia (Doug) Farinet of Englewood, OH, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her brother, David (Carol) Niese of Stryker, OH. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Worthington, and her sister, Diane Keller. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating. Entombment will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens.
