Martha A. Thieroff, 72, of Holgate, passed away on March 8, 2014 at the Defiance Area In Patient Hospice Center, Defiance, OH.
She was born on January 12, 1942 to Lester & Margaret (Siegel) Morris in Lima, OH. On April 23, 1966 she married Lavon Thieroff who preceded her in death on October 8, 2011.
She was a member of St Stephen Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid, and a former Sunday School Teacher and past Church officer, a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League where she was a former officer, former officer for Thrivent Financial for Lutheran's, a member of the Village Quilters in Archbold, Ohio. She graduated from York High School near Van Wert, Ohio and graduated from the Findlay College where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Martha worked as a Secretary for both Marathon Oil in Findlay and the Ohio Division of Forestry. Martha also traveled to various European countries with the WBGU tour group.
Martha is survived by her son, Steven (Amy) Thieroff of Holgate, OH, brother, Richard (Joan) Morris of Quebec, Canada, brother, David (Edith) Morris of Cincinnati, OH, sister, Mary (John) Edie of Arlington, OH, sister, Maggie (Luis) Lopez of Grand Junction, CO, granddaughter, Emily Thieroff, grandson, Pete Thieroff, grandson, Matthew Thieroff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio and one hour prior to the services at the Church on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, 11:00 am at the St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio, with the Rev William Stottlemyer officiating.
Burial will take place in the St. Stephen Lutheran Church Cemetery.
