Martha A Morris, 66, of Brookline, MA and former Defiance resident passed away at her residence on November 17, 2013 after a three year battle with cancer with her son Don at her side.

She was born April 30, 1947 in Defiance and was the daughter of the late Edward and Rose (Kennedy) Ankney.

Martha was a 1965 graduate of Defiance High School and worked locally in a nursing home, factory and restaurant. She moved to the Boston area in 1993 from Toledo. Martha was a loving and kind person who fought her illness with grace and dignity. She loved animals and nature and watching old movies. Martha believed that the world's problems could be solved with a cup of coffee or a coke.

Martha was married to Donovan Morris and is survived by a son Don Morris of Boston, MA.

She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers; Robert, James, Vern and Joseph Ankney.

Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in the Mission Church in Boston.

Graveside service will be Monday, December 23, 2013 in Riverside Cemetery at 1:00PM with Father Randy Giesige officiating.

Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
