Martha M. Wagner, 94, of Defiance, passed away on January 19, 2014 at the CHP Defiance InPatient Hospice Center.

She was born on August 11, 1919 to Edward and Alfretta (March) Kunesh in Defiance, OH. On May 3, 1939, she married Cletus J. Wagner, and he died on September. 17 2008. Martha spent most of her life as a home maker and farm wife, tending to the things that needed to be done.

She was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society, and also helped with the K of C Fish Fry. She was also one of the Gray Ladies at the Henry County Hospital. Martha also enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, decorating cakes, and was an avid gardener. She was known for her beautiful garden on the ridge.

Martha is survived by her loving sons, John (Mary) Wagner of Defiance, OH, Joe (Phyllis) Wagner of Defiance, OH, Jerry (Sandy) Wagner of Defiance, OH, daughters, Margie (Richard) Boff of Defiance, OH, and Mary Kay (Patrick) Imber of Defiance, OH, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, Daughter-in-law, Brenda Wagner of Defiance, OH, sisters, Donelda Royal of Defiance, OH, Arlene Iler of Defiance, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Cletus J. Wagner, son, Michael "Main" Wagner, brother, Virgil Kunesh, sisters, Inez Giesige, Madonna Limpach, Rita Batoha, granddaughter, Lisa  Yoder.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, with Father George Wenzinger, officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Michael's Catholic Church Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice.
