Mark Stephen Wonderly, age 69, of Sherwood, Ohio, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026 in Bryan, Ohio.
He was born on March 23, 1957 to the late Arthur and Rita (Welsh) Wonderly. Mark was a 1975 graduate of Fairview H.S. and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1975 to 1979, and in the National Guard for two years. Mark was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. He had a true passion for working on his farm, and also worked at Trim Trends, and for the Railroad.
Mark is survived by his loving children, Christina (David) Weber of Hicksville, Michelle (Charles) Light of Liberty Center, Jennifer (Joshua) Dalton of Bryan, and Jonathan Wonderly of Defiance. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren; Heavin McGlaughlin, Hilliary Wodardski Felt, Devine Weber, Tylar Rowland, Bret, Jasmine, and Tristan Light, Brandon and Holly Dalton, Grace Herman and Stephen Sierra, six great-grandchildren; Baby Boy McGlaughlin, Emmett and Clark Wodarski Felt, Colt Curtis, Laker and Malone Rowland, his sisters, Cindy Baxter and Vickie Elser, and brothers, Greg (Lynn) Wonderly and Neil (Jill) Wonderly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Wonderly, and brother-in-law, Rex Baxter.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 20th at St. Isidore Catholic Church-The Bend, with Fr. Melwyn Menezes officiating. Mark will be laid to rest at St. Isidore Catholic Cemetery-The Bend.
