Mark J. Bakle, 57, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Defiance. He was born on March 20, 1961 to Charles Sr. and Maryann (McCurdy) Bakle in Defiance. He was a 1979 graduate of Defiance High School, and he earned his Associate's Degree from the University of Toledo.

Mark was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance, Defiance K of C, VFW #3360,  and was a Trustee at the Defiance Eagles #372. He enjoyed volunteering at Lily Creek Farms, and at the K of C fish fries. Mark worked as a Transportation Manager with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Lima, Ohio. He loved his jeep, motorcycle, and his animals.  Mark was proceeded in death by his beloved dogs, Pooh Bear and Shadow.  Mark was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Mark will be sadly missed by his mother, Maryann Bakle of Defiance, three brothers, Charles (Penny) Bakle, Jr. of Defiance, Michael (Deb) Bakle of Defiance, and  David Bakle Sr. of Bryan, two sisters, Diana Bakle of Waynesfield, OH, and Annmarie Bakle of Defiance, nephews, David Bakle, Jr. and Andrew Bakle, both of Defiance, and special friend Jodi Young, and her daughter, Jami Young. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles A. Bakle, Sr., and his grandparents. A Private Service will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
