Marjorie D. Siler, 94, of Defiance, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance.
She was born on March 30, 1921 to Lot E. and Laura (Edwards) Lloyd in Defiance, Ohio. Marjorie was a 1939 graduate of Ayersville High School, the first graduating class at Ayersville. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, and was in the Altar and Rosary Society. On October 17, 1945 she married William E. Siler, who preceded her in death on May 6, 1996. Marjorie worked at Zeller Corporation during WWII, and also in the cafeteria at the Defiance Hospital for 15 years. She was a member of 55+ Club, Defiance Hospital Auxiliary, Farm Bureau and Farm Union.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by her family; son, Douglas (Lois) Siler, daughters, Sue (Tom) Boesling and Sally Jo (Tim) Bader, 3 Grandchildren, Timothy, Lauren, and Joseph Bader, and a brother, William Lloyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Irene Birchmeier, and infant sister, Mabel Lloyd, brothers, Harlan, John, Leonard, Gerald, Dale, Irvin "Doc" and Lester Lloyd.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, and for one hour prior to services at the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with Fr. Robert Kill officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested for Masses, the St. Mary's food pantry, or CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
