Marjorie K. Seifert, 89, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance, Ohio. She was born on September 10, 1925 to Edward and Fanny (Ort) Geiger in Defiance. In 1952 she married Leo J. Seifert, who proceeded her in death in 2010. Marjorie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Defiance, and active in the bible study group. She worked for Campbell Soup Company for 21 years, retiring in 1989. Marjorie was a 30-year volunteer for Red Cross, member of the South Richland get together, and she volunteered with Defiance County Meals on Wheels. Marjorie is survived by her son, Rick Seifert of Toledo, Ohio, 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and son-in-law, Wayne Davis of Defiance. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Fanny Geiger, husband, Leo Seifert, sister, Dorothy Geiger, brothers Donald Geiger and Richard Geiger, and daughter, Pam Davis. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Defiance, with Rev. David Brobston, officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
