Marjorie Ann Dirr, 82, of Defiance, passed away on  February 24, 2013 at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on September 2, 1930 to Edward and Anna (Schatz) Franzdorf in Defiance, OH. On May 2, 1954 she married Alonzo "Lonnie" Dirr at St. John Lutheran Church. Marjorie and Alonzo lived in Defiance, Ohio.

She was the Valedictorian of Ayersville class of 1948, a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Defiance County Election Board, & worked with the US Census.

Marjorie is survived by her loving spouse of 58 years Lonnie, daughter, Diane (Terry) Salisbury of Defiance, OH, son, Mark (Debbie) Dirr of Oakwood, OH, daughter, Amy (Gary) Fortman of Avilla, IN, daughter, Melissa (Steve) Harvey of Lima, OH, 11 Grandchildren, & 3 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents & a granddaughter, Hillary Dirr.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Inc., Defiance, Ohio, and from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, 11:00 am at the St John Lutheran Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Rev. Donald L. Luhring, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
