Marion M. Kay
Marion M. Kay, 99, of Defiance, passed away Thursday, June 7th, 2012 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. She was formerly of Detroit, moving to Defiance in 1995.
She was born in Schuylkill Haven, Pa. on August 23, 1912, she was the daughter of the late David and Clara Victoria (Groh) Smith and lived in Reading, Pa.
Marion married Walter Kay Dec. 26, 1939 who died Sept. 8, 1995.
She was a member of the Eastern Star in Defiance, was Past Matron of the Greater Friendship Chapter, Order Eastern Star, Detroit and a homemaker.
Surviving are
sons: James (Elane) Smith of Defiance and James W. Kay of Algonac, Mich.
4 grandsons; James (June) Smith of Liberty Center, Jeffery Smith of Ney, James W. Kay Jr. of Detroit, Joel (Stephanie) Smith of Liberty Center and 11 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Walter, a brother Nelson Smith and grandsons; Jeremy Smith and Jason Smith.
Services at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 11th.
Visitation is 10 - 1 Monday at Lawson-Roessner 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance.
