Obituary

Marilyn S. McCann Marilyn Sue McCann, 76, died Friday, July 10th, 2009 in Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on December 12, 1932, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Virgil and Grace (Litchfield) Compo. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1950. On October 25, 1952, she married Richard F. McCann. She and her husband purchased Service Master of Defiance in 1969, where she served as secretary. In 1979, she opened The Gingerbread House, a children's clothing store. She was a committed member of The Defiance County Humane Society for 25 years. She was a past member of Kettenring Country Club and Newmar Country Klub. She is survived by her husband Richard McCann. Archbold: children Michael (Laurie) McCann, Patti Parks and Sally (Lew) King, all of Defiance. Marilyn was the proud Grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Virginia Lawson. Services Monday at 12:00 Noon from St. Michael's Catholic Church at 5840 Moser Rd. Defiance. Friends are invited to call Sunday 2-8 at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home and Monday 11-12 at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be a dinner immediately following services. Suggested memorials are to the Defiance County Humane Society or Hospice-The Carinw Way of Defiance.
