Marilyn I Zimmer, 85, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Laurels of Defiance.

She was born on April 3, 1927 to Daniel and Laura (Sickmiller) Grove in Malinta, OH. On June 6, 1953 she married James C.Zimmer.

Marilyn was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, James, two daughters, Kathy (Tim) Jewell of Defiance, Diane Zimmer of Verona, NJ, granddaughter, Stacey Miller of Napoleon, great grandchildren, Morgan and Alexis Myers, of Napoleon, and a sister, Donna Smith of McClure, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 05, 2013 at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home with a vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m. .

The family suggest memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
