Marilyn A. Thornburg, 81, of Defiance, formerly of Bryan, OH, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.
She was born on May 24, 1936 to Marion and Ada (Bennett) Warner-Dickey in Leipsic, OH. On August 16, 1959 she married James Thornburg, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2002.
Marilyn was a member of First Church of Christ in Bryan, Ohio, Eagles in Findlay, and GWRRA Goldwing Road Riders Association. She worked at Bryan Custom Plastics for several years. Marilyn enjoyed the winter months in Zephyrhills, Florida. She adored her family and all her grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by so many.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Jane (John) Lime of Defiance, two grandchildren; Julie Young of Ft. Wayne, IN, and James (Melody) Lime of Defiance, 5 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, and brother, Warren (Mary) Dickey of Leipsic-North Baltimore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Thornburg, sisters, Mary Catherine "Cack" Balbaugh, Dorothy Skinner, Edna Lou Ellen "Hon" Shoemaker, Doris Warner, and Bonnie Drew, brothers, William "Bud" Warner and Marion "Sonny" Dickey, and one great-grandson.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Snavely officiating.
Memorials are suggested to Ayersville United Methodist Church, or First Church of Christ in Bryan. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
