Marie M. (Heimann) Hagen, age 93, went home to her heavenly Father on April 16, 2014.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; grandson, Marshall Hagen; her brothers, Fred and Carl Heimann; and three infant children.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother ( known as Sweet Grandma).

She was born in New Haven, Connecticut on October 13, 1920, moving to Hamler, Ohio after her marriage. She was welcomed by the Hagen family of brothers and sisters-in-law, who have all since passed away:  Clarence & Lavina Asmus, Norman & Edna Conley, Hugo & Esther Sonnenberg, Raymond & Florence Hagen, Louis & Luella Hagen, and William & Arlene Rathge. She was always grateful for their love and support.

She is survived by her children, Mary (William) Lammers, John (Jacki) Hagen, Anne Hagen (Thomas Dooley), Paul (Fay)Hagen, Mark (Kristin) Hagen, and Robert (Julie) Hagen; 19 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law,  Eleanor Heimann and June Heimann, and many special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on April 25 from 4-8 pm at Schaffer Funeral  Home, 529 Jefferson St., Defiance, Ohio, and on Saturday from 10-11 am at the church.  Funeral services will be on April 26th at 11 am at the First Church of God, 561 Carter Road, Defiance, Ohio. Luncheon will follow the service.  Grave side services will be held after the luncheon at Marion Township Cemetery, 10713 County Road Y, Hamler, Ohio.
