Marianne Baldwin Marianne Baldwin, 85, of Defiance, passed away Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born in Nuremberg, Germany, on January 12, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Margarete (Knoll) Raab. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid, a hospital auxiliary volunteer, volunteer at the clothes closet, past president and life member of the American Legion 117, member of the Defiance AMVETS 1991 and a trustee of the German American Club. She married Joseph L. Baldwin in 1947 who died in 1991. Marianne will be missed by her daughters: Sharon (Jerry) Lynn of Defiance and Monica Allen(John Huff) and daughter in law Kay Baldwin of Defiance. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Heidi (Rick) Ross, Brooke (Gary) Sefton, Kristin (Mike) Ketcham, Ryan (Shauna) Lynn, Derek Lynn and Sharee (John) Geesey, and 6 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son James Baldwin, her husband Joseph and her parents. Services at St. John Lutheran Church at 11:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12th, with Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating. Friends are invited to call Sunday 2-8 p.m. at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home and Monday 10-11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church prior to her services. Suggested memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church, CHP Defiance Area Hospice or the Bethesda Home. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens.
