Maria DeJesus Barajaz, 53, of Defiance, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Community Hospital and Wellness Center in Bryan, Ohio.

She was born on April 30, 1963 to David and Rita (Rodriguez) Ordaz in Defiance. She married Preston Barajaz, who resides in Findlay, Ohio. Maria attended Family Christian Center in Defiance. She was a huge Cleveland Brown and Cleveland Indians fan. Maria loved to sing, and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Maria is survived by husband, Preston Barajaz of Findlay,  father, David Ordaz, daughters, Kati (Austin) Beckett, and Brooke Lopez of Defiance, son, Gilbert (Jennifer) Lopez III of Defiance, sisters, Diana Velez, Alma Rivera, and Sylvia Garcia, brothers, Mark Ordaz and Richard Ordaz, and her grandchildren; Nassadia, Noah, Kemri, Javiair, Havanah, Jazmin, Preston, Kashmir, Layne, and a grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Ordaz, sister Annette Quintero, and brother, David Ordaz, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 am at Heritage Baptist Church, 1036 Latty St., Defiance, OH 43512.
