Margaret J. Schaufele Margaret J. Schaufele, 85, of Evansport, passed away Monday morning, January 17th, 2011 at Twin Rivers Nursing Care Center. She was born in Defiance, Ohio on March 28, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Rosalia (Desch) Minck. Margaret was the postmaster of Evansport, Ohio for 15 years. She was a lifetime member of St. John Catholic Church, a member of the Christian Mothers and Altar Society, the 55 plus club, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, the Tiffin Township Fireflies, and the Fire Department auxiliary. In 1947 she married Walter Schaufele who died in 1993. Surviving are a daughter: Ann (Craig) Newberry of Defiance three sons: Fred (Pam) Schaufele, John (Gaye) Schaufele, Walter "Butch" Schaufele, all of Evansport. Two sisters; Mary Rita Bell of Downs, Illinois, and Theresa Schriner of Big Rapids, Mich. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Walter and a brother Raymond Minck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. John Catholic Church, Defiance, at 11:00 A:M on Thursday, January 20th, with Father John Stites officiating. Friends are invited to call Wednesday 2-8 at the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home 1753 S. Clinton St. Defiance. Burial will be in Evansport Cemetery.
