Margaret Rose Cox (née Morelli), 77, of Defiance, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4th, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Janet Morelli of Youngstown, Ohio.

Margaret leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Alan Cox, her two children, Jennifer (Sean) Griewahn and Shawn (Megan) Gettan, as well as 10 grandchildren (and spouses), 14 great-grandchildren, her siblings, and many other family members and friends.

Margaret was an incredible Matriarch for her family, a loving wife, and a beautiful soul. She lived her life with purpose and will be remembered for her humor, wit, intelligence, and guidance.

Friends and family are welcome to visit at Shaffer Funeral Home, 529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10th from 3-5pm. A service will be held directly following visitation.
