Margaret Catherine Gick, age 88 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Monday morning, October 30, 2023 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center. She was born on August 19, 1935 to the late Perry and Marjorie (Minsel) Lehman in Jewell, Ohio. On June 18, 1955 she married Wilbur Gick, her surviving spouse.

Margaret was a faithful member of Zion's Lutheran Church and was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed her involvement in the Ministry of Clowning. Margaret was known as "Krickets" the clown and loved bringing great joy to others. Margaret will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 68 years Wilbur Gick of Defiance, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Marjorie Lehman, her son, Kenneth Gick, her sister, Carol Thomas, and brothers, Jim and Darcy Lehman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Zion's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Thomas Zulick officiating. Burial will follow the service at Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to CHP Defiance Hospice Center, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
