Margaret R. Keller-Free, 91, of Defiance, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at her residence in Kingsbury Place, Defiance, OH. She was born on April 30, 1927 to Linus and Anna (Weber) Froelich in Defiance, OH.  On June 10, 1950 she married Richard G. Keller who preceded her in death on December 11, 1981.  Margaret then married Robert G. Free on May 20, 1983, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2003. She was a member of member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Paulding OH, and previously worked for The Crescent-News in Defiance.  In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards and especially enjoyed family times.. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Steven (Cathy) Keller of Coldwater, MI, Alan (Paula) Keller of Defiance, OH, Neal (Cathy) Keller of Defiance, OH, and Teresa (Larry) Ellis of Avilla, IN, Step-children, Al (Sue) Free of Paulding, OH, Teresa Dempsey of Paulding, OH, Mary Howard of Paulding, OH, Ann (Corey) Walker of Paulding, OH, and Christine Free of Paulding, OH, a brother, Willard (Marilyn) Froelich of Coldwater, OH, sisters, Patricia Wirick of Defiance, OH, and Virginia Manley of Macungie, PA, 20 Grandchildren, and 33 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husbands, Richard G. Keller and Robert G. Free, sisters, Mary Ann Wells and Alma Jean Froelich, and a brother, John Froelich. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019, from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm  at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a Rosary being recited at 2:00 pm.  Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 10:00 am in St Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance, Ohio, with Fr. Randy Giesige, officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Great Lakes Hospice.
