Marcia Redmond Jones Marcia Redmond Jones, 78, of Defiance, passed away Thursday, April 7th, 2016 at Brookview Care Center in Defiance. Ohio. She was born April 24, 1937 in Buffalo, New York to George Leslie and Grace (Hutchison) Rhodes. She married William G. Puehn in 1956. They welcomed a son, William A. Puehn in 1957. In 1960 she married Thomas L. Redmond. They added 5 children to their family: Laura, Jennifer, Patrick, Brenda and Daniel. Tom preceded her in death in 1973. In 1986, she married Arthur P. Jones who passed away in 1999. Marcia was an accomplished commercial artist having designed and painted many signs, billboards, buildings and vehicles in the area. She was a bookkeeper and then Manager of D&P Wrecking after her husband Tom's death. She then was hired as the in-house interior decorator at Sherwin-Williams Co. in Defiance. She obtained her real estate license in night school and then became a sales associate for Strait Realty in Defiance. While in RE sales she also purchased, remodeled and sold numerous homes in the area. In 1985 she moved to Tampa, FL and went back to work for Sherwin-Williams Co. as a commercial credit specialist retiring in 2000, In 2008 she moved back to Defiance. She was lifetime learner and loved reading most of all. Marcia read at least 3 newspapers a day as evidenced by the clippings that she continually shared with her children via mail i.e.-(long distance mothering.) She also enjoyed creative writing, dancing, music, gardening, ceramics, decorative woodworking and refinishing. She was the most nonjudgmental person any of us ever knew. She was just so intrigued by the interesting differences in people (no matter who we all brought home.) Marcia is survived by her son William (Rebecca) Puehn of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, daughters Laura (Steven) Riehle and Brenda (William) Froelich of Defiance. Grandchildren Amanda (Joshua) Hirmosa of PBG, FL, Jeremy Pohl of Defiance and Kathryn Riehle of San Diego, CA. Great-grandchild Audrey Grace Hirmoso. Sister Carol Lucinio of Wilson, NY, Brothers Richard (Barbara) Rhodes of Brandon, FL, John (Sandra) Rhodes of Atlanta, GA and sister-in-law Carol Rhodes of Williamsville, NY. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, children: Jennifer, Patrick and Daniel Redmond. Brother Robert Rhodes, sister Peggy Albone and brother-in-law Michael Lucinio. There will be a private family memorial service on Saturday, April 16th with the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home handling arrangements. Burial will be at Live Oak Cemetery in Paulding, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to either Kingsbury Place Assisted Living Activities Fund or to Brookview Care Center's Dementia Unit /Activities fund.
